Cookies

Effective date: November 3, 2026

This notice explains how greenbinz.org may use cookies and similar browser technologies. These tools support basic website operation, help protect contact forms, remember limited preferences, and provide insight into how visitors find and use our information about school-supply reuse.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website or service provider stores in a browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and identifiers used by embedded content. Some expire when the browser closes; others remain for a defined period unless deleted sooner.

Types of technology we may use

Strictly necessary

These support functions such as page delivery, security, spam prevention, load balancing, accessibility preferences, and contact-form operation. Blocking them can cause parts of the site to work incorrectly.

Functional

Functional storage can remember a choice or interface state so it does not need to be selected repeatedly. GreenBinz aims to limit these tools to features that provide a clear benefit.

Measurement and performance

Hosting or analytics services may measure visits, page performance, referring sources, general device information, and interaction patterns. We use this type of information in aggregate to understand whether visitors can find collection guidance and program information. It is not used by GreenBinz to create advertising profiles.

Embedded and third-party content

Pages may contain video, social media features, fonts, or other content supplied by WordPress.com, VideoPress, or another provider. When loaded, those providers may receive technical information and set their own cookies. Their practices and retention periods are governed by their policies, not this notice.

Current advertising approach

GreenBinz does not intentionally place behavioral advertising cookies for its own advertising campaigns. A hosting platform or embedded third party may nevertheless use technologies under its own terms. We review integrations with the goal of keeping tracking proportionate to a small community organization’s needs.

How to manage cookies

Most browsers allow you to view, delete, or block cookies and to restrict third-party storage. Private-browsing modes and content-blocking tools may provide additional control. Browser controls vary, so consult your browser’s privacy or help settings. Blocking cookies may affect contact forms, embedded video, menu preferences, or security features.

Do Not Track and similar signals

Browsers and jurisdictions use different preference signals, and there is not one universal response standard for every service used on this site. Where a supported consent or privacy-control mechanism is provided by our platform, we aim to honor it as configured. You can always block nonessential storage through browser settings.

Relationship to our Privacy Policy

For details about information submitted through the site, sharing, retention, children’s privacy, and your choices, read our Privacy Policy.

Updates and questions

Technology used by the website can change as hosting and embedded services are updated. We may revise this notice accordingly. Questions can be submitted through our Contact Us page.
